Lemon Alfredo Pasta

1 BoxFettuccine pasta (or your preferred pasta)
4 tbspUnsalted butter (or cut back salt if using salted butter)
1Lemon - zested and for juicing
1 cupHeavy cream
1 cupParmesan - grated
To tasteSalt and pepper
(Optional) Basil to top


  1. Cook pasta per box instructions.
  2. Reserving 1 cup of hot pasta water when you drain the pasta.
  3. Set pasta aside.
  4. Melt butter over medium heat and then whisk in heavy cream.
  5. Add parmesan and lemon zest.
  6. Whisk until parmesan is melted.
  7. Add half the lemon juice and taste. This will depend on your preference, but I usually go heavy on the lemon.
  8. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Check consistency, adding some of the hot pasta water to loosen the sauce if needed.
  10. Add the pasta to combine.
  11. Serve and sprinkle basil on top.
  12. Serve immediately!


This would go great with chicken… especially lemon dijon honey marinated chicken.
