Ingredients
Quantity | Ingredient |

1 Box | Fettuccine pasta (or your preferred pasta) |
4 tbsp | Unsalted butter (or cut back salt if using salted butter) |
1 | Lemon - zested and for juicing |
1 cup | Heavy cream |
1 cup | Parmesan - grated |
To taste | Salt and pepper |
(Optional) Basil to top |
Directions
- Cook pasta per box instructions.
- Reserving 1 cup of hot pasta water when you drain the pasta.
- Set pasta aside.
- Melt butter over medium heat and then whisk in heavy cream.
- Add parmesan and lemon zest.
- Whisk until parmesan is melted.
- Add half the lemon juice and taste. This will depend on your preference, but I usually go heavy on the lemon.
- Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Check consistency, adding some of the hot pasta water to loosen the sauce if needed.
- Add the pasta to combine.
- Serve and sprinkle basil on top.
- Serve immediately!
Notes
This would go great with chicken… especially lemon dijon honey marinated chicken.
